In February, there were four days where our temperatures never rose above freezing, which is a prolonged stretch of frigid weather for this region. On the first day that the temperature made it above freezing, a lot of wildlife seemed to be in an almost-celebratory mood. This roadrunner was out running around, feathers all fluffed up, eating little worms/larvae. We locked eyes through the window, and then, she went about her worm-hunting business.
